Level I Carbine

This is Blackstar’s first level Tactical Carbine class. This will introduce the shooter to the techniques used to properly sight in, load and operate the magazine fed carbine.

General Information:
- Class size 10
- Cost $150 (plus range fee)
- To be held 23 July 2011, 8a to 4p at North Ottawa Rod and Gun Club, 13084 160th Ave, Grand Haven, MI 49417

Prerequisite:
- CPL or other firearms training

Topics:
- Gear selection/maintenance
- Proper stance
- Positions
- Sight-in with metallic and optical sights
- Proper use of holdover
- Loading/reloading techniques
- Malfunction drills

Required equipment:
- Carbine (AR15, AK47/74 or pistol-caliber carbine)
- Pistol (no .22LR cal)
- 600 rounds of carbine ammunition
- 100 rounds of pistol ammunition
- Minimum 3 magazines each for carbine and pistol
- Good quality pistol holster (no cross-draw, IWB or shoulder holsters)
- Magazine pouches for carbine and pistol magazines
- Carbine sling
- Ear and eye protection

Recommended equipment:
- Fluids and food to sustain you for 8 hours
- Hat/sunscreen
- Insect repellant
- Knee/elbow pads

This class is held outdoors. Dress appropriately. Class will be cancelled only in the event of lightening.
